In Spain, around one in three drivers killed during road-traffic accidents had alcohol in their system and drink-driving remains within the top three causes of accidents on the road as well as fatalities. This is why, the hero of a good night out is the designed driver.
This is exactly what the Zero Hero initiative represents, celebrating and supporting the designated driver, who chooses to remain sober to ensure the safety of others on the road. A restaurant or bar which decides to become a Zero Hero venue will give free soft drinks to those who are designated drivers when accompanied by people who are consuming alcohol.
