Cabin crew we are 10 mins from landing… I don’t know about you but those words excite me! As a uni student who traveled between both countries for three years, I somehow found myself becoming somewhat of a frequent flyer. Does Ryanair have one of those schemes?
If you have found yourself in this position like me, whatever your reasons may be, this article will be useful for you.
This ranking will collect all the information you must know on our trusty airlines. Then it’s up to you to decide what you value you the most. Do you want to at least try not to break the bank or do you value your leg space a tad more?
Ryanair
Cheap and cheerful, the only thing they give for free is stiff legs. Some people’s favourite and some people’s absolute no-go. It tends to be the most economical flight choice but don’t you dare try and get a bigger bag on (or any bag at all) because you might as well fly business class to New York. I must say, I’m not a fan of the Ryanair slander as you usually get what you pay for and many of my journeys have been with this airline.
Plus they are quite amusing- have you seen their social media?
EasyJet
Again, quite similar to Ryanair, they are almost as, or even more cheap and equally as stingy on luggage. Better leg room, however you don’t get a window on 11a either ( avid Ryanair travellers will know what I mean).
Mostly it’s for people who want to go cheap but don’t want to say they fly with Ryanair.
British Airways
We’ve just got really boujie. Generally more expensive, however also a lot more comfortable. You get more leg room and better luggage allowance, plus some cheeky Walker biscuits and the smallest bottle of water I’ve ever seen (better than nothing).
But the question is, is it worth the price difference for such a short flight?
Iberia
The Spanish BA. I’ve never actually traveled with them but prices tend to be more on the steepside compared to our budget airlines. You can travel with a free wheelie although its flight rank is better for long haul flights than European short haul.
Jet2/TUI
Package holiday galore- do people even travel with them unless they are on one? In my opinion Jet2 gets points for its iconic song and advert.
They are usually a lot more pricey than our first two contenders but usually cheaper than BA and luggage allowance is not great.
Vueling
Not much to add about Vueling, I haven’t travelled with them much. Amongst the highest number of flights heading to the UK and surprisingly good legspace however I’ve seen them be ruthless with luggage size at the gate. Prices can be a bit of a hit and miss.
Wizzair
Our final contender- Wizzair. Not as popular as our previous companies but still worth checking out. They don’t have as many flights to the UK as Ryanair and Easyjet but are slowly expanding. Leg room and luggage allowance isn’t great but prices are usually on the cheaper side. Good option for those who want to be a bit different. Also, the colours are quite cute- I love the hot pink.
My list concludes here. I may have missed out on a couple of airlines but these are my favourites and I hope it helps you the next time you are travelling. Who do you usually travel with? Let us know if you check out any of these new airlines!
