Do you ever feel like you are okay, but missing out on something in your life but you can’t quite pinpoint what it is you are lacking? Maybe a really simple exercise is your answer- the wheel of life.
The wheel of life is a graphic which can help you determine how well balanced or wobbly your life feels at this moment. The wheel is divided into 8 slices, representing areas of your life. The idea is that you rank from one to ten; one being very dissatisfied and ten being perfect, each area. By the end of it you should physically see what areas you are lacking.
The wheel’s eight categories are: Health, Friends and Family, Significant Other, Personal Growth, Fun and Leisure, Home Environment, Career and Money.

The way to fill it out is by asking yourself a series of questions for each area, and through your responses you will know what number out of ten you should rank yourself. Divide each area into ten pieces and colour in or shade the number you deserve.

This exercise is meant to be done for personal growth so you should take your time and be honest with yourself when completing it. It’s a good idea to revisit it every month or so to see where you have improved or are still lacking.
This wheel was invented in 1960 by Paul J Meyer as a self-assessment tool to motivate people into their full potential, however, the origin of the wheel dates back to ancient buddhism believed to be invented by Lord Buddhist himself as a visual educational tool to teach about karma.
